Southwest Orlando Jaycees is pleased to partner with the City of Orlando MLK Commission, Orange County Government, Coca Cola and other Sponsors in welcoming the general public to attend the 2014 Downtown Orlando Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration. The downtown Orlando parade will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00am. Immediately following the parade the Jaycees will unveil the 1st Annual “TheSOUND!” competition at the Lake Eola Bandshell.

“TheSOUND!” is a showcase of the area’s most prestigious Praise & Worship Teams battling it out before our local celebrity judge panel and you! We solicit and encourage all Central Florida residents and communities to participate and contribute to the celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The theme for the 2014 MLK Celebration is “UNITY! Remember, Celebrate, Act” in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington.

The JAYCEE Creed

We Believe: That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations; That economic justice can best be won by free men and women through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men and women; That earth's great treasure lies in human personality; And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
